Available in sizes smaller than a penny, they are designed to fit into some other existing device like a valve, manifold, vessel wall or some other fitting, and so effectively prevent backflow over a long, trouble-free operating life. 

To address the variety of industrial applications for these devices, O'Keefe Controls Co. manufactures Threaded Insert Check Valves in both a spring-loaded ball style or in a free-floating ball style. Many cracking pressure options are offered, and a large range of threads are available. In instances where miniaturization is paramount, threads as small as 6-32 UNC or M3.5 can be used. 

To prevent spiral leakage, O'Keefe Controls Co. also offers a unique nose seal option. The O-ring seal on the leading end of the check valve can seal effectively against a flat surface, saving time and expense in installation.
