CNC Router Finishing Services
Service Detail from Osborne Industries, Inc.
Osborne Industries is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) supplier of thermoset molded parts utilizing Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) and Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) processes. Osborne Industries has over 35 years in the custom molding business, and can produce high-quality parts, that meet your tight tolerances and specifications. One way Osborne Industries ensures consistent quality of the parts it supplies is with the use of two (2), 5-axis CNC Routers. One router has twin 5x5-ft. beds and is capable of handling parts (x,y,z) 5-ft X 10-ft X 43-in. The second router has twin 6-ft X 6-ft beds, capable of handling parts (x,y,z) 6-ft X 12-ft X 48-in.
CNC routers are used at Osborne Industries for the production of our composite mold patterns. This allows for efficient building of precise composite molds, used in both our RIM and RTM production areas. By utilizing composite molds, we are able to make high-quality composite parts that can last many years, making thousands of parts.
Another way CNC routers are used at Osborne is for the finishing and machining of composite parts. CNC routers make it possible to efficiently drill holes and trim parts to your tight tolerances. This helps ensure part consistency. The CNC router also allows for easy trim modifications. If a metal template was used for manually drilling holes in your composite part, and you needed to move the hole, it would require tool modification. With the CNC router, the drilling coordinates can be changed quickly and inexpensively.
CNC routers can also be used is in the production of prototypes parts. Rather than manually building prototypes, which can be expensive and time consuming, Osborne Industries can take your hard models, program them in the CNC Router, and make a prototype from various materials. Our engineers can help ensure your parts are designed correctly, using the most cost effective materials.
