Troy, NY (January 10, 2001) - GlobalSpec.com, the Internet’s leading product discovery resource for engineers and other technical buyers, has shown sizable increases in overall site traffic, registered users, and site content for 2000. GlobalSpec.com’s number of registered users doubled and visitor sessions increased approximately 40%. In addition, the number of searchable catalogs on the site has more than doubled and the number of searchable suppliers grew 84%. Looking to the future, GlobalSpec.com has launched a new Web site that has added functionality, including enhanced search and find capabilities.

“Our accomplishments in 2000 are impressive,” said John Schneiter, Chairman of GlobalSpec.com, “However, even more important is the fact we are pushing ahead with new changes for 2001.” Schneiter added, “The first week in January we launched a redesigned Web site with new navigation based on usability testing and market research provided to us by engineers and technical buyers who use our site.”

GlobalSpec.com has also been named to the SBC 100 for the year 2000. This recognition comes from Small Business Computing magazine, a magazine dedicated to providing technology solutions for small business owners, and is given to the 100 small companies demonstrating the most original business ideas.

GlobalSpec.com’s premier product, SpecSearch(sm), is the world’s first online, standardized, parametric search and specification resource that allows engineers to search by company name, product type, or product specifications within GlobalSpec.com’s database. Once results are presented, users have multiple ways of contacting the supplier(s). Uniquely interesting to SpecSearch(sm) is that it's not an opt-in list; all companies are reviewed, categorized, and validated by GlobalSpec.com engineers.
