Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) with Osborne includes custom-formulating liquid thermosetting composites and in-mold fiberglass reinforcements to mold components that meet your specifications. Take full advantage of RTM quality and design flexibility such as nonporous surface finish, in-mold cores, in-mold gel coating, and more with turnkey guidance from Osborne.
At many RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) and RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) molding shops the physical properties of your parts are limited to the resins and catalysts available from their distributors. Osborne Industries have plastics engineers and chemists who can formulate resins and reinforcing materials to meet your specific applications.
High tooling costs and fast chemical reaction times typically rule out many plastic molding processes when manufacturing very large plastic parts. Osborne Industries has overcome this obstacle in two ways:
First, Osborne Industries can manufacture high quality, composite molds, that can last for many years, making thousands of parts for a fraction of what tradional metal molds cost.
Large Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) Parts
Large fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) parts are typically made by hand layup, because it typically has lower tooling costs, compared to closed mold process, like Resin Transfer Molding (RTM). With hand layup, it is difficult to control quality, and the part only has one "finished" side. Osborne Industries addresses these issues with RTM
Osborne Industries is an OEM supplier of thermoset plastic parts utilizing Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) and Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) processes. Normally, RIM and RTM molding cannot compete economically with other low-volume processes because molds are typically made of aluminum, steel or nickel. Osborne Industries has overcome this by successfully developing low-cost composite mo...
Osborne Delivers A New Dimension to RIM Molding
They have successfully developed low-cost composite tooling and production methods that enable Osborne RIM to be highly competitive - even at very low production volumes.

OEM manufacturers frequently substitute plastic parts for metal parts where weight and chemical corrosion resistance are important. Plastic components are not typically thought of as viable alternatives for metal in rough, abrasive environments. The engineers and chemists at Osborne Industries have over 35 years experience with reinforced thermoset resins for challenging applications
In addition to Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) and Reaction Injection Molding (RIM), Osborne also does Structural RIM (SRIM) and Reinforced RIM (RRIM) molding. We use the most efficient methods to mold polyester, polyurethane, polyurea, pDCPD Telene®, and our own patented Rutene® polymers. We also have the capability and know-how to mold epoxies and polyimides.
Osborne Industries is an OEM supplier of thermoset plastic parts utilizing Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) and Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) processes. Plastic molding is typically not considered for low volume parts due to high tooling costs. Osborne Industries has overcome this, by successfully developing low-cost composite molds.
Quality Assurance and Lab Testing
At Osborne Industries, ensuring your OEM parts meet your specifications is the number one priority. Before any material is unloaded at Osborne Industries, it is analyzed to make sure it meets quality standards. This helps insure part quality and consistency. Every part made is tracked through the complete manufacturing cycle.
