Relative humidity is a difficult parameter to measure in a reliable and repeatable manner. A reliable measurement is dependent on two key elements: understanding the science and choosing the correct technology for a particular application.

This presentation will cover the basics of the science of humidity with emphasis on the effects of temperature and pressure variations. Temperature variations are the single biggest cause of error in relative humidity measurements. Attendees will learn how to mitigate the error caused by temperature as well as the potential problems that occur when measuring humidity at different pressures.

The second part of the presentation will focus on matching sensor technology to the application. Not only are there pros and cons with each type of technology, but the pros and cons can depend on the environment being measured. Attendees will learn some basic criteria to evaluate when choosing the correct technology for their particular application.
