Overview

Intelligent Asset Management is a cloud-based asset management system for intelligent actuators and the flow control equipment they operate. Failure of key equipment can result in poor performance, poor quality and reduced output yields and reputational damage. The solution is a risk-based maintenance strategy which incorporates advanced analytics, condition monitoring and anomaly detection.

Downtime is costly. Supporting the continuous and reliable operation of a plant, by proactively managing and fixing key assets before they become problematic, allows for improved performance and increases in valuable uptime, while reducing risk and costs.

Through the collection of data and Rotork analytics, our innovative maintenance system improves long-term operational stability of all assets. Available both as a standalone offering and as part of a combined solution to meet individual needs, it is part of Rotork's Lifetime Management suite of services. Performance, process criticality, product and operational data are combined to assess asset condition and determine if intervention is required to prevent performance degradation or failure.

Smart maintenance powered by Intelligent Asset Management is based on data from the field, rather than periodic or limited maintenance based on guesswork - or no maintenance at all. Early detection of anomalies can save costly repairs and gain a holistic understanding of an entire site. Intelligent Asset Management removes the need to manually review data, saving time and reducing the likelihood of missing minor issues that if left unchecked, may develop into more serious and costly problems.

Dave Godfrey, Global Product Manager, Service, Aftermarket and Networks, Rotork

Dave Godfrey joined Rotork in 2004 as an advanced modern apprentice and then moved into the engineering team working as an international sales support engineer, based in Bath, U.K.. This led to his next role as area sales and service engineer in Libya, before moving to Australia to become area sales manager and then regional sales manager. After four years, he returned to the U.K. to take up the role of southern manager, looking after the sales, service and operations for the southern half of the Rotork U.K. business.

He is now product manager for service, aftermarket and networks, which has global responsibility for looking at the development of our service and aftermarket product portfolio to ensure all services Rotork has available match customers' expectations in all regions around the world.

Mike Devrell, Program Manager, Intelligent Asset Management, Rotork

Mike Devrell has over 12 years' experience working for Rotork and is currently the program manager and architect for Rotork's Intelligent Asset Management system. In a previous role at Rotork, Mike was involved in integration troubleshooting at customers' sites across the world and development of FDT/DTM technology software used for configuration and asset management. He has experience of on-site installations of various Fieldbus technologies including Foundation Fieldbus, Pakscan, Modbus, Profibus and HART.

After graduating from Southampton University, U.K., with a master's of electronics (hons) degree in 2002, Mike worked for a large company designing control systems for plasma abatement equipment used in manufacture of flat panel displays, solar cells, processors and memory ICs, and also has experience of designing custom interface equipment.
