Overview

As engineers across the world look to solve the challenges created by the need to decarbonize hard-to-abate industries, each of the new carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies emerging will need to scale credibly, reduce the cost of carbon dioxide capture from various types of customer sites, and support those unfamiliar with processing plants in their operation, to be successful.

The audience might be familiar with the values that pneumatic valve actuation can bring, which is a traditional form of actuation in many processing plants globally. Attendees might also know the values of electric actuation, too.  This presentation aims to provide understanding of the relevant needs of this emerging market and how one form of actuation is presenting itself as a strategic progressive and disruptive solution.

The next generation CCUS market opens the possibility to improve on what was learned from first generation carbon capture plant projects. Rotork is a market leader in electric actuation because we have enabled customers to challenge the status quo in valve control. If your company wants to think differently and challenge the traditional mindset, then Rotork is here to support following this presentation.

Key Takeaways

  • Understand how electric valve actuation can help enable 'next generation' carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies meet the aspirations of this emerging market.
  • Examine next generation CCUS market needs concerning efficiency, and the OPEX reduction, installation time, and operational flexibility benefits provided by electric valve actuation
  • Explore options for risk reduction, standardization and rapid scaling.
  • Learn about CCUS technology optimization to achieve reduced carbon intensity
