Find out how innovative solutions can extend brake rotor life and minimize pollution generated by brake systems in passenger cars and commercial vehicles. What's more, brake rotor manufacturers can meet mass production demands with greater cost-effectiveness and automation. Corrosion resistance can be further improved with solution such as the Smart ONC® technology.

Overview
The Euro 7 exhaust emissions standard imposes strict regulations on particulate emissions from passenger cars and commercial vehicles, a significant source of particulates in urban areas. NITREX has made research investments to improve the properties of nitrocarburized surfaces on cast and steel parts, particularly grey cast iron brake rotors. The application of a newly improved ferritic nitrocarburizing process Smart ONC® has proven to be an effective technical, economical, and environmental solution.
In this webinar, we will delve deeper into the major source of particulate matter (PM) and particulate number (PN) pollution caused by new electromobility requirements, namely braking systems, and how these can be addressed with Smart ONC®. We will also go over the various processes used on gray cast iron, low- and medium-carbon steels, and low-alloyed steels and how they affect mechanical and chemical properties like roughness, friction, wear, and corrosion resistance. We will conclude by demonstrating a fully automated heat-treating line and how it can be integrated into semi or fully automated production of brake rotors.
This webinar is intended to provide valuable insights for automotive and other transportation companies, as well as tier suppliers, looking for solutions to meet the new Euro 7 emissions standard and reduce particulate emissions from brake systems.
