Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR) are a set of standards that regulate the materials, design and construction, and inspection and testing of boilers and boiler components for compliance by the manufacturers and users of boilers in India. This webinar will review the significant changes to the IBR. Manufacturers may be interested in the new changes to remain competitive and compliant.
Overview
Recent amendments to the Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR) have introduced several significant changes to enhance safety and efficiency in boiler operations. HSB’s experienced presenter will explain the recent IBR changes in an engaging and informative way for your organization to ensure awareness and meaning of these changes so your quality program can be efficiently updated.
Some of these significant changes introduced into the 2022 amendments to the IBR include a new way to procure material. The use of material from a well-known supplier has been the preferred way for many years. The only way to use alternate material was to perform witness testing at the material manufacturer. Now, the IBR changes will make the use of material more cost-efficient for the manufacturer by testing in-house or at an accredited test laboratory.
Other changes include revised procedures for the examination and certification of boiler operators. In previous adoptions of IBR, welding operators were not included. Welder and welding operator testing and material requirements have had extensive changes, so organizations will need to navigate and be aware of these requirements. These changes are part of ongoing efforts to modernize boiler regulations, improve safety standards, and facilitate easier compliance for boiler operators and manufacturers. This webinar will help to provide your organization with the tools to properly include these and other changes into your quality program.
