Securing Additive Manufacturing: New Solutions for Safe Networking

Global supply chain friction and scaling geopolitical threats are driving the need for digitized manufacturing more than ever. Additive manufacturing, in particular, is a valuable tool for defense, OEMs, and other critical industries looking to produce metal and polymer parts faster and more efficiently to stay competitive – or stay in the fight. Secure file sharing is a key component of this ecosystem – how do these organizations share digital part files without compromising Intellectual Property (IP) rights for the owner of the design and print parameters? This panel will have a discussion around the current landscape of digital file sharing and the next steps associated with an accelerated roll-out.

Overview

In this webinar, experts from the defense, additive manufacturing (AM), supply chain/operations, and security industries will discuss the current landscape in manufacturing and how now, more than ever, the need for digitized solutions, including secure file sharing, for intellectual property (IP) is critical.

With 13 years as a professional military engineering and logistics officer in the U.K. and Australian defense forces, Calum Stewart will open the discussion with his perspective on where we are with security in AM and what he's seeing and hearing from the field with SPEE3D.

Len Pannett, also a former military officer with more than a decade in the Royal Navy, and now an expert on operations and supply chain, will provide his insights into the overarching issues facing critical industries like defense, OEMs, aerospace, and oil and gas, among others, to work faster despite geopolitical and other constraints.

Lior Polak and Nigel Robinson, both on the front lines to provide security solutions to the manufacturing industry through their software companies Assembrix and Vistory, will outline how we define IP for AM and how they see IP owners working with customers and security providers to simplify the process and enable adoption.

Key Takeaways

  • Learn about the current landscape for digitization of the additive manufacturing ecosystem
  • Hear why secure file sharing is so critical for many industries and who is driving it forward
  • Understand the next steps to moving forward and current success stories of roll-out
  • Leave with a fundamental understanding of this component of digitized manufacturing for critical industries
