Overview

Wind turbine technology has advanced significantly over the past several decades, resulting in larger wind turbine sizes, more complex manufacturing processes, and increased operational challenges. In addition, harsh operating environments often push main bearing systems, which already have high failure rates and high replacement costs, to their limits. To remain competitive, wind turbine operators must find ways to optimize equipment performance, increase reliability, and reduce maintenance costs.

In this webinar, Waukesha Bearings explains the advantages gained from using fluid film bearings on a wind turbine main shaft and the physics behind what makes them effective. Also, meet the new, game-changing NordAlign™ fluid film bearing that enables easy installation, maintenance and uptower exchangeability without the need for jack up vessels or cranes.

Key Takeaways

  • Learn how fluid film bearings maximize wind turbine efficiency and explore the core physics driving their operation.
  • Discover our new, game-changing NordAlign™ bearing and how it offers a number of benefits to wind turbine operation, such as uptower exchangeability, to simplify maintenance.
