Overlay | Overlay laminates are resin-saturated papers used to create panels or laminated boards with waterproof and non-stick properties. The laminated products are used to make concrete forms, countertops, signs, shelving, staging, and pallets. Decorative overlays consist of a resin-saturated paper with a graphic or printed design.
Veneer | Veneers are thin layers of wood that are adhesively bonded to a less expensive wood core to provide a better surface quality.
Other | Other unlisted, specialized or proprietary product type.
Search Logic: | All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
Adhesive Coated? | Adhesive coating refers to when only one side of the surface material is coated with adhesive.
Search Logic: | "Required" and "Must Not Have" criteria limit returned matches as specified. Products with optional attributes will be returned for either choice.
Materials
Back to Top
Materials of Construction: | Relatively thin flexible material to which the adhesive is applied. Theoretically, any material, which is reasonably flat, relatively thin and flexible, could be used as a tape backing. May also be called "carrier."
Your choices are... | |||
Ceramic / Ceramic Filled | The material is filled with ceramic particulate, fiber, or fabric reinforcement.
Cloth / Fabric | Cloth materials provide a good release surface for a diverse range of industrial applications requiring high temperature, electrical resistance, mechanical strength, fire retardancy, and cost effectiveness.
Fiberglass / Composite | The veneer or overlay product is reinforced with fiberglass or a fiberglass composite material.
Metal Foil | Metal foil tapes are commonly available in aluminum, aluminum-reinforced, and lead backings
Paper | Paper backings come in the form of tape, film, or laminate and may also be called "flatback" materials.
Plastic Film | Plastic sheets sold in thicknesses of up to 10 mils. Plastic film can be clear or colored, printed or plain, single or multilayered, and combined with other materials such as aluminum and paper.
Rubber | Rubber backing materials for overlays and veneers come in the form of tape, film, or laminate.
Wood / Wood Product | Wood products can include solid wood boards, thin wood veneers, orientated strand board (OSB), plywood, and particle board. Wood is a natural composite extracted from the stems, branches, and roots of trees. Wood is a hard fibrous substance consisting of xylem and cellulose fibers in an amorphous lignin polymer matrix. Lignin is a biogenetic, crosslinked polymer that bonds adjacent cell walls together into a straw or wood tissue composite. Cellulose is a polysaccharide (C6H10O5)x of glucose units that constitutes the chief part of the cell walls of plants. It occurs naturally in fibrous products, such as cotton and kapok, and is the raw material in many manufactured goods (e.g., paper, rayon, and cellophane).

Configuration
Back to Top
Thickness | Thickness is the distance from one surface of the overlay or veneer, usually expressed in mils or thousandths of an inch. This is usually measured under slight pressure with a special gauge.
Search Logic: | User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
Width | The width of the overlay or veneer.
Search Logic: | User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
Performance
Back to Top
Temperature Resistance | Temperature resistance is the maximum temperature the overlay or veneer can withstand.
Search Logic: | User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
Performance Features
Back to Top
Your choices are... | |||
Abrasion / Scratch Resistant | The overlay or veneer product has abrasion or scratch resistance.
Chemical Resistant | The overlay or veneer is resistant to chemicals, including solvents.
Graphic Design / Decorative Print | The overlay laminate has a decorative print or graphic design on the surface.
Transparent | The tape, film or laminate allows transmission of light. A tape is rated as transparent if 10-point type can be read easily when the tape is applied directly over it.
UV / Weather Resistant | The overlay or veneer is resistant to UV, cold, heat, water or other weather conditions, and can applied for outdoor use.
Other | Other unlisted or proprietary features.
