More Information...

  • 1M Series - A thin film-based thermopile with a 1.0mm diameter active area with good signal-to-noise ratio in a TO-5 package and a moderate time constant of 32ms with Argon encapsulation gas.
  • 2M Series - A thin film-based single element thermopile detector that offers the world's highest sensitivity in a TO-5 package. Dare to compare. Low noise voltage of 12.8nV/√Hz.
  • DR46 Series - A two-channel or a one-channel compensated thin-film thermopile in a TO-8 package. Each active area is 4mm x 0.6mm. Offers high output with excellent signal-to-noise ratio. An internal aperture minimizes channel-to-channel crosstalk increasing sensitivity.
  • DR46 Compensated Series- A one-channel compensated thin-film thermopile in a TO-8 package. The active area and compensating element area are 4mm x 0.6mm each. Offers high output with very good signal-to-noise ratio. Internal aperture minimizes channel-to-channel crosstalk increasing sensitivity.
  • ST120 TO-5 Series- A single-channel silicon-based thermopile provides lowest cost solutions in a small active area of 1.2mm x 1.2mm in a TO-5 package. Time constant of 25ms with Nitrogen encapsulation gas. Delivers a very low Temperature Coefficient of Responsivity of -0.04%/°C. This detector has a very short thermal shock response to ambient temperature change.
  • ST150 Series- A single-channel silicon-based thermopile that delivers a very low Temperature Coefficient of Responsivity of -0.04%/°C with a high output voltage and a quick time constant of 38ms. This Low-cost detector comes in a TO-5 package. This detector has a very short thermal shock response to ambient temperature change.
  • ST60 LCC Series- A single-channel silicon-based thermopile in a LCC package for surface mount assembly in a small active area of 0.61mm x 0.61mm. Time constant of 18ms with Nitrogen encapsulation gas. Delivers a very low Temperature Coefficient of Responsivity of -0.04%/°C. This detector has a very short thermal shock response to ambient temperature change

About Dexter Research - The World Leader in Infrared Thermopile Detectors:

Dexter Research Center, Inc. was founded by Robert Toth, Ph.D in 1977. A leading thin film and materials expert, Bob believed then and now that:

  • No other infrared device outperforms a thermopile as an affordable detector, and
  • There is no substitute for collaboration as a means to optimize infrared detector performance, packaging, reliability and durability to surpass the current benchmarks and beyond our customer expectations.

From either the perspective of systems performance or systems cost, customized applications of Dexter Research's thermopile technology continue to be the preferred solutions to today's burgeoning infrared detector market.

However, we know that we cannot rest on our laurels and reputation. As a result, Dexter Research has undertaken an aggressive organization development program to support our customers.

Today, Dexter Research offers 31 core thermopile products, more than all global competitors combined, each 100% tested for industry-leading quality. We now provide our customers with a choice from over 800 thermopile configurations, and we have new thermopile detectors coming on-line and new customers using our products around the world.
