The Laureate Model P is a UL-listed digital panel meter for process signals such as 4-20 mA, 0-5 V or 0-10 V, which require zero and span adjustment. The display can be scaled to five full digits from the front panel to read in engineering units, such as PSI or GPM. Accuracy is 0.01% of full scale ± 1 count. An adaptive digital filter provides stable readings in electrically noisy environments. Noise filtering is achieved by an adaptive moving average filter, which filters out noise yet responds quickly to actual changes in signal level. Three scaling methods are selectable: scale and offset, two-point method, and system-level calibration using actual transducer signals. A built-in, isolated excitation supply with selectable 5, 10, and 24 Vdc outputs is standard to power transducers or transmitters, avoiding the need for an external supply. The isolated 24 Vdc, 50 mA excitation output is ideal for powering two-wire, 4-20 mA transmitters. The same two wires are used to apply voltage and carry the output current. Inside the meter, the 4-20 mA current is dropped across a 10 ohm resistor and sets up a 40-200 mV voltage, which is then sensed by the meter and scaled to engineering units. The meter read rate is an exceptional fast 60/second. Such a high read rate is ideal for alarm or control, or for peak or valley capture. The peak or valley values of the input signal are automatically captured and may be displayed via a front panel pushbutton command or a control signal at the rear connector since the last meter reset. Options include dual relays for control or alarm, isolated 4-20 mA and 0-10V analog outputs, and an RS232 or a dual-connector RS485 port for data communications with a host computer or PLC. Modbus RS485 is fully supported. The base price is $220. For more information and pricing of options, visit www.laurels.com/process.htm
