The Laureate Model FRS, 6-digit timer is capable of timing events from 1 μs to 999,999 hours with resolution to 0.2 μs for fast events. Individual event times may displayed in 6-digit decimal format in ms, seconds, minutes or hours or in HH.MM.SS clock format with 1 second resolution. The display is updated continuously while timing. Simultaneously with the timing of individual events, accumulated time from multiple events can also be tracked and be displayed up to 999,999 hours. Accumulated time is automatically stored in non-volatile EEPROM for retention in the absence of power. The unit's dual-channel signal conditioner can accept signals from proximity switches with a PNP or NPN output, TTL or CMOS logic, magnetic pickups, contact closures, and other signals from 12 mV to 250 Vac. Jumper selections provide optimum operation for different sensor types and noise conditions. Two timing modes are selectable. In the A-A stopwatch mode, time is measured between a start pulse and a stop pulse, both on the same input Channel A. In the A-B stopwatch mode, time is measured between a start pulse on Channel A and a stop pulse on a Channel B. This mode allows inputs from different sources. The A and B inputs can also be tied together to start the stopwatch with one polarity and stop it with the other polarity. A built-in isolated 5, 10, or 24 Vdc excitation supply is standard to power proximity switches and other sensors. Options include dual relays for control or alarm, isolated 4-20 mA and 0-10V analog outputs, and an RS232 or RS485 port for data communications with a host computer or PLC. Modbus RS485 is fully supported. The Laureate Model FRS Stopwatch Timer is UL-listed. It is ideal for a wide range of industrial and laboratory applications which require dedicated, high-resolution digital timing. It is also recommended as an accumulated time meter, for example to track hours of use of a machine. Accumulated time is stored in non-volatile memory. The base price is $230.
