About Bar Code Software
Bar code software identifies or decodes bar code symbology, generates output strings corresponding to barcode values, creates bar code fonts, prints bar codes, and/or performs bar code tracking. Bar code software can analyze or print many different bar code symbologies, including universal product code (UPC) bar codes, Code 128 bar codes, Code 39 bar codes, interleaved 2 of 5 bar codes, PDF 417 bar codes, and many more types of barcodes that are used in applications ranging from shipping to inventory control to cataloging books by ISBN number.
Bar code software is used to create, print, and analyze bar codes for companies and other organizations that manufacture, store, distribute, sell, and ship products. Bar code printing software comes with special fonts for creating and printing bar codes on labels and forms. Bar code printing software typically comes with a set of both TrueType and PostScript fonts, and can print bar codes using the common UPC bar code font for retail applications. Bar code software can also print Code 39 bar codes, also called 3 of 9 bar codes, which are used for identification, inventory, and tracking applications. The Code 39 or 3 of 9 bar code font includes all of the different widths and densities of the bar code lines.
