(HDI) would like to announce that its ShockWave Xtractor™ hop extraction technology is currently being tested at Terrapin Beer Company’s Brew Lab (Terrapin) adjacent to Suntrust Park in Atlanta, GA. Terrapin is evaluating the enhanced extraction capability of the ShockWave Xtractor™ to assist in dry hopping. Doug Mancosky, Chief Science Officer at HDI stated, “We are so happy to be working with a fellow Georgia company in their exciting new location adjacent to the new Atlanta Braves stadium. Terrapin has a great mix of beers that span traditional flavors to exciting innovations which could benefit from our extraction technology.” Terrapin is known for excellent dry hopped beers including their Hopsecutioner IPA. The ShockWave Xtractor™ harnesses the normally destructive power of cavitation and controls it so its pressure fluctuations can be used for increased hop flavor extraction. With the proliferation “hoppy” beers the demand for hops and the prices have increased.
