   Cutting
   Your choices are...
Abrasive Jet Machining (AJM)       Abrasive jet machining is an abrasive blasting process that uses abrasives propelled by high velocity gas to remove material from a workpiece.
Abrasive Wheel Cutting       Abrasive cut off uses an abrasive wheel or blade that is used to cut a wide variety of materials such as metals, composites, and masonry. A major advantage is it creates a burr free cut on metals.
Band Saw Cutting       A power saw that consists of an endless toothed steel belt or band continuously driven around the circumferences of two pulleys.
Circular Cold Saw Cutting       A power saw consisting of a circular toothed cutting blade rotated at high speed.
CNC Cutting       The service company performs cutting operations by the use of Computer Numeric Controls (CNC). CNC machines are fast, repeatable, and programmable. Machines are typically automated and unattended, making it possible to manufacture complex and simple parts efficiently.
Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM)       Wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment is used to cut conductive materials using a thin electrode. The electrode is a thin wire (typically .004"-.012") that follows a programmed path. The wire does not physically contact the part. It is charged to a certain level and surrounded by de-ionized water. A spark is generated that jumps the gap and melts a small amount of material on the part.
Flame Cutting       Flame cutting equipment uses an oxygen gas flame to heat metals in preparation for cutting them.
Laser Cutting       Laser cutting is a CNC controlled, non-contact cutting tool process that allows quick, accurate cutting with a narrow kerf (cutting groove). Laser types include CO2 lasers and Nd:YAG lasers. Laser cutting is a very versatile operation that has short setup times, and can cut a wide range of materials of varying hardness and composition. Some of the advantages of laser cutting are high accuracy, cutting of unlimited and complex shapes, clean cutting that requires little or no finishing and generates a minimum amount of heat, and distortion-free cutting.
Miter Cutting       Miter saws are used to make a beveled or angled cut.
Plasma Cutting       In plasma cutting, an area is melted with an arc and then cut by a high-velocity, high-temperature ionized gas. It is also referred to as plasma-arc cutting.
Router       Routing machines have a revolving, high-speed vertical spindle and cutter for milling out the surface or edges of wood, plastic, metal, and other materials.
Water Jet Cutting       Water jets and water abrasive jets rely on highly pressurized water (20,000 - 60,000 psi) flowing through a nozzle or "jewel" approximately 0.010" in diameter. Advantages include almost no material heating during cutting, low side loads, and ability to achieve complex shapes and tight inside radii. Low fixturing costs and fast setup and programming times make this process very suitable for prototypes or short runs. It is most widely used for two-dimensional cutting; three-dimensional machining is possible in specialty applications.

Tube / Pipe       Tube or pipe cutting is the process of cutting square, rectangular, or round tubing, pipe, and bar stock to the desired length and miter angle.
Wire / Rod       Wire or rod cutting is the process of cutting various size round stock to the desired length and miter angle.
Tapes / Adhesives       Tapes and adhesives are flexible strip and sheet materials that have adhesive backings. This includes pressure sensitive tapes, adhesive tapes, contact paper, peel-and-stick, etc.
Film / Sheet       Films and sheets are flexible, non-woven materials that have a width and breadth of many, many times the thickness.
Textiles       Textiles are all woven, knitted, or felted materials that are commonly referred to as fabric.
Other       Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary specialty cutting services.

Materials
   Materials
   Your choices are...
Metals       Metals are a broad category of elements that usually have a shiny surface and grayish color. They are good conductors of electricity and heat and can be melted or fused, hammered into thin sheets, or drawn into wire. Common metals include steel, copper, gold, silver, tin, iron, lead, aluminum, and magnesium.
Plastics       Plastics are organic, synthetic, or processed materials that are mostly thermoplastic or thermosetting polymers of high molecular weight and that can be made into objects, films, or filaments.
Rubber       Natural or synthetic rubbers are high polymers characterized by their elasticity, high abrasion resistance, and fluid and chemical resistance. Natural rubber includes gum rubber (polyisoprene) and latex. Synthetic rubber includes many grades such as Norprene®, Neoprene®, and silicone. Norprene is a registered trademark of Norton Co. Neoprene is a registered trademark of DuPont.
Glass       Glass is a large class of materials with variable mechanical and optical properties that is formed by cooling from a molten state without crystallization. Glass is a hard, brittle material consisting of a mixture of silicates that is usually transparent or translucent. Glass is considered to be a cooled liquid rather than a true solid.
Stone / Marble / Granite       Stone is any concentrated earthy or mineral matter such as rock. Marble is a metamorphic rock formed by the alteration of limestone. Granite is a hard natural igneous rock consisting chiefly of quartz, orthoclase or microcline, and mica.
Composites       Composites are solid materials comprised of two or more substances that have distinct properties. When merged, each substance retains its own characteristics while providing the entire composition with beneficial properties. Composites include plastic materials in which a fibrous framework is embedded for greater structural stability.
Foam       Foam is a lightweight, porous, semi-rigid or spongy material.
   Other       Other unlisted materials.
