The Semray® UV PC6003 LED curing system is tested and proven by leading optical fiber and wire manufacturers looking for lower cost and more sustainable production.

Gaithersburg, MD – Heraeus Noblelight announces it will be showcasing the Semray® UV PC6003, a UV LED curing system designed specifically for optical fiber draw and coloring manufacturing processes, during the 2022 IWCS Cable & Connectivity Industry Forum. First introduced two years ago, subsequent testing and trials by leading optical fiber and wire manufacturers prove it meets production speed requirements up to 3,400 m/min while reducing downtime and lowering total cost of ownership. Retrofitting existing draw towers and other fiber and cable processing lines is easy and cost effective with a typical payback of about 2 years.

The Semray UV PC6003 offers benefits inherent with using UV LED curing technology including longer life, significantly lower operating costs due to energy savings, and reduced maintenance. However, compared to other available UV LED products, the Semray system can run at 75% power to achieve the same line speed and consumes 40% less energy per draw line offering a significant cost savings. The Semray system is also IoT enabled for real-time performance monitoring and reduced downtime.

Also on display at the Heraeus Noblelight booth will be its “smart” microwave-powered UV curing system, the LightHammer® Mark III. This “smart” UV curing system incorporates internal sensors, enabling Industry 4.0 and real-time system performance monitoring. The result is significantly improved troubleshooting, reduced downtime and the lowest total cost of ownership.

Heraeus Noblelight manufactures specialized UV curing systems for optical fiber, cable and wire. Its innovative combination of high efficiency optics and modular UV lamps provide the most effective, reliable, and consistent curing for high speed production environments, especially 24/7 operations needing to minimize downtime. Its systems find wide use in optical fiber draw towers, coloring and coating processes, high speed inkjet marking of cable jacketing, and other printing and curing applications on linear products such as plastic extrusions, FRP strength members, wire, and cables. Heraeus Noblelight experts will be in booth #202 during the 2022 IWCS Cable & Connectivity Industry Forum happening October 10 – 13 in Providence, RI.
