Modern Linear Inc., San Rafael, Ca. has produced a guide roller based linear guide made entirely of steel components. A large oil field equipment manufacturer contacted Modern Linear after visiting the website. It looked like the Double Track Linear Guide product would be the best choice for the application but there was some concern about the durability of some of the aluminum support components. After some discussion, Modern Linear decided to fabricate the carriage plate and the track spacer in A6 tool steel. The design and steel materials of the double edge hardened track and 52100 steel rollers combined with the steel carriage plate and spacer made for an extremely durable linear guide assembly. This design is sure to stand up to the rigors of a demanding industry like oil production.

Modern Linear, Inc. was founded by Steve Fulton in 2004. Steve has worked in the linear motion industry for over twenty years designing and selling all types of linear motion products. His experience includes working for industry leaders that produce ball bushings and profile rail technology, as well as Teflon bushings and guide rollers.
