Engine and Engine Component Repair Services Information

Engine repair and engine component repair services provide repair and rebuild services for rotating and stationary engine components. Having a clean engine is an important aspect of owning a vehicle or piece of equipment, which means that proper engine and engine component repair services are critical to engine performance and longevity.

Engine repair and engine component repair services are performed on many different types of engines and engine components including but not limited to jet engines; 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engine blocks, gas powered engines; automobile, truck, and agricultural engines; and also repair on shafts, discs, hubs, drums, couplings, seals, and other unlisted engines and engine components.

Repair services are also available for applications in the field of aerospace, marine applications, and other, unlisted industrial fields. Some engine and engine component repair service providers specialize in a particular industry.

Typically, the engine repair and engine components undergoing repair are first cleaned with a high-pressure wash and initially evaluated for which repairs need to be performed; non-destructive testing for the detection of cracks. Once approved by the repair technician and customer, the engine or engine component will be repaired.

Repair services offered may include assembly and disassembly, cleaning, inspection, component repair or replacement, engine block machining or honing, jig boring, CNC milling, drilling, cylinder head reconditioning, or crankshaft regrinding. Other unlisted engine and engine component repair services may also be offered.

Parts, components, and engines undergoing repair for the Aerospace industry must be approved by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Current FAA advisory Circular 43.18 offers guidance for the fabrication of parts used during component repair operations; an additional update to this Circular are expected in the near future.
