Chapter 6: Gazette A to Z
Overview
The Gazette consists of a chapter per program, process or subsystem, containing a discussion of the objects, security concerns and best practice recommendations.
The naming conventions are:
User Program Object files that users can execute.
System Program Object files that other programs, not users, execute.
System Utility Object files generally used by system administrators or operators for system-oriented functions.
Configuration File Text file such as a Library, DLL and *CSTM file which are used by System and User Programs.
Subsystem A set of System Programs, User Programs and Configuration files such as Safeguard, MEASURE or SQL software.
Application A subsystem installed and run as an application.
