J.1. RFCs
Internet RFCs are the publication vehicle for all Internet standards (all Internet standards are RFCs, but not all RFCs are Internet standards). Of the RFCs that exist at the time of this writing, we recommend that you at a minimum read 2821, 2822, 974, 1034, 1035, 1123, 1311, and, for extra credit, 976 and 1137. The easiest way to acquire RFCs is via http://www.rfc-editor.org/.
