There are extensive numbers of textbooks and articles available on Six Sigma. This book is certainly not another textbook on Six Sigma, but rather a book which demonstrates how Six Sigma could be applied or has been applied in a real industrial setting. This book will be written on the assumption that the reader is already acquainted with the subject area and therefore the philosophical and theoretical aspects of Six Sigma will be limited in this book. This book is essentially a collection of case studies taken from multinational manufacturing and service corporations, and therefore offers a more specialist treatment of various aspects of Six Sigma which are either not covered or only briefly covered in existing books available in the market. What we are offering here is a book which will allow the reader to appreciate some of the complexities and problems associated with the implementation of Six Sigma methodology, some of the key tools and techniques of Six Sigma in contemporary organizations.
