EXCIMER FORMATION BY ELECTRIC FIELD INDUCTION AND SIDE CHAIN MOTION ASSISTANCE IN POLYFLUORENES

The reasons for variations in the electroluminescence spectrum during continuous operation of polyfluorene based devices is studied. Measurements on field induction-thermally stimulated current and electroluminescence over a wide temperature range demonstrate that electric field induction accompanied by side-chain motion can lead to formation of excimers which contribute to the growth of a green component in the electroluminescence spectrum. 52 refs.
