About

Azumo — maker of LCD 2.0 and the leader in low-power & sunlight readable displays

Take the power back with LCD 2.0 - frontlit reflective displays.

Azumo technology sips power at a 90% lower rate than backlit LCDs, is intrinsically safe, and is certified for industrial and medical uses. The frontlit reflective LCD module is the next step in devices, and works in various applications.

With Azumo-powered displays, devices can run for a week on a single charge, and can go wherever we need them to with visibility in direct sun and pitch darkness. Our reflective display modules remove the restrictions around how and where we can look at our devices, and what they can do for us.

A little history:

In 2008, Mike Casper, Dr. Tony Nichol, and Shawn Pucylowski came together in Chicago to form FLEx Lighting. Initially they focused on combining xenon light bulbs, fiber optics and plastic film into a thin light source. Over time this turned into a much more compact system of LEDs and optical film.

Soon enough, they would create the FLEx front light panel: a breakthrough light transmission system that could revolutionize the display industry.

In early 2021, FLEx became Azumo: a combination of azure, a cloudless sky which is our greatest source of natural light and the primary illumination source for reflective displays & lumo, a nod to "lumens" for light.

Today, Azumo is delivering on the promise of LCD 2.0 to make displays efficient, effective, and safe for all.
