For more than 100 years DEHN has been serving the electrical industry. From the beginning, protecting buildings and personnel from the effects of direct lightning strikes, to its current business which is primarily the protection of electrical equipment and systems from the effects of lightning currents and voltage surges by the application of Surge Protective Devices (SPDs or TVSS).
As electrical power systems became more complex, the electrical loads, such as process control, computer and telecommunication systems, solid state controllers and relays become more commonplace and sensitive to the disturbances on these power and signaling systems, DEHN has continued to develop new products and technologies for maintaining the integrity and reliability of these modern systems. This has led to DEHN’s leadership role in MOV and Spark Gap based SPD technology resulting in their capability to mitigate even lightning rated transients with 10/350 µsec transients.
DEHN currently employs a staff of more than 600 engineers, technicians, craftsman and administrative personnel, and has contracting branches employing another 250 employees, serving in subsidiaries and with partnering companies in more than 50 countries throughout the world including, DEHN Inc. serving the United States market. DEHN heavily invests in original research and development, as well as contributing and exchanging information at international technical conferences and serving on technical Standards committees, to further the knowledge and technology in the fields of lightning protection and transient voltage surge suppression. DEHN manufactures its SPD products under an ISO 9001 certified Quality System.
DEHN manufactures a full range of lightning and surge protection devices (SPDs) for application on Power (600 VAC class [690 V AC for Wind] and up to 1200 V DC for PV), Instrumentation, Measurement and Control, and Communication (including RF coaxial RJ 45, etc.) systems. Products are primarily configured for DIN rail mounting, but also include NPT pipe enclosed assemblies for mounting with transducers.
DEHN power SPDs are rated for 600 Volt class applications and are respectively rated for Protection Categories (per ANSI C62.41-1991) C, B, or A., are compliant to UL 1449 3rd Edition and components have been tested and approved to conform to international standards as stated, and as indicated also bear UL and CE designations.
DEHN Inc. is the US wholly owned subsidiary of DEHN +SOHNE. For additional product information outside of North America, please visit the following website www.dehn-international.com
