History
Between 1979-1988, the company founders performed preliminary research and development, which resulted in the development of several successful prototypes demonstrating Elspec's unique technology. In 1988, Elspec Engineering Ltd. was founded as a private venture, followed, in 1993, by the launching of commercial sales and manufacturing. In May 2004, the company had its IPO and became a publicly traded company on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE:Elspec). The company has established two subsidiaries (see Worldwide Locations). Currently, the company markets its products worldwide through a network of Authorized Agents.

Certifications
The company is ISO 9001/2000 certified (see certifications for Elspec Engineering and Elspec Technologies) and all products comply with international safety, environmental and electromagnetic standards such as CE and UL (as applicable). Equipment and systems are shipped and commissioned on-site only after undergoing stringent in-house testing and approval procedures. Quality Control
The R&D Department utilizes an advanced lab featuring the top level of the technological equipment including the world's most advanced three-phase power quality generator – one of a few in the world. The lab also holds an advanced calibration station. Elspec holds an in-house help-desk department supporting Elspec‘s installations and applications worldwide.
