EMG has been in the manufacturing of Material Handling Equipment since 1984. The VacuHoist® product line was introduced to the market in 1985.

At the continuing request for new products from EMG's now ever-expanding Global Distribution Network, in 1993, Ergo-Sys Rail was designed and manufactured. This was a natural expansion for the hoist line, as every VacuHoist® sold was hung from a crane rail system, so why not ensure the success of the installation and supply the entire system. This further expanded their customization capabilities, now, the entire package could be tailored to fit the customers’ needs, from the ceiling to the product.

With the popularity of the Ergo-Sys Rail in the marketplace growing, in 1995, the ESR 2 rail was introduced, to allow the distributors to enjoy the user-friendly rail in new larger capacities. During the 1993 introduction, the smaller ESR 1 rail was introduced for use in VacuHoist® installations with capacities limited to 500 lbs. The new ESR 2 would allow for the use of the Ergo-Sys Rail Systems with capacities up to 4000 lbs.

In 1997, the needs of the primary customers for their VacuHoist® product line expanded again with the request for entirely stainless rail systems. In 1997, ESR 1 began production in full 304 stainless construction for use in food and pharmaceutical wash down environments. In 1998, the ESR 2 product line was introduced in a highly corrosion resistant 316L stainless construction for severe duty applications. The entire Ergo-Sys Rail product line is now available in the highly corrosion resistant 316 stainless steel.

1999 brought more product changes necessary to compete with an ever-maturing Material Handling Market. Now, the need to manipulate and maneuver, rather than just lift and lower were necessary for their lifting products. In February, 1999, the BalAir® air balancer was introduced affording the ability to build completely custom attachments for maneuvering and manipulating products never before possible with a VacuHoist®. These attachments are built with completely integrated Air Logic® for safety with air interlocking to prevent accidental release of parts.

2001- The introduction of the ArticuLift®, EMG's fully integrated articulating pneumatic arm. This new system will allow them to reach, articulate, rotate, and manipulate products. They now have the ability to lift, lower, articulate or move virtually any products from 0-4000 lbs.

2002 & 2003- Saw the addition of pallet inverters and custom industrial manipulators to EMG's product line-up.
