Since our founding in 1949 Kaneka has been engaged in the manufacture and sale of chemicals, functional plastics, expandable plastics, foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, electrical raw materials and synthetic fibers and has provided highly specialized products in a wide range of fields.

On September 1, 2009, when we marked our 60th anniversary, we adopted our new corporate philosophy and long-term management vision titled "Declaration of Kaneka United for the future." Comprising the goals we intend to achieve by 2020, this management vision can be considered our "corporate compass."
