 Auditing Standards The accreditation process is based on three different auditing standards: AS-1, AS-2, and AS-3. Three NIICAP standards are used to assess and audit a contractor’s ability to meet a variety of customer specifications. |
 5 Star 5 Star Recognition is awarded when a coatings contractor has achieved three AS-1 auditing cycles with superior ratings, achieving and maintaining an average score of 4.0 or more for each of the two audit sections. |
