About

Pfeiffer Vacuum, now branded Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions, is a vacuum technology manufacturer with deep roots in the field. It developed the turbomolecular pump in the mid-1950s and celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2024. It is one of three brands within the Busch Group, which is headquartered in Maulburg, Germany, and describes itself as one of the world's largest makers of vacuum pumps, vacuum systems, blowers, compressors and gas abatement systems. The U.S. site lists its headquarters in Nashua, New Hampshire, with an application laboratory in Asslar, Germany. The October 2024 rebrand reflects a repositioning as a one-stop supplier of both vacuum solutions and semiconductor fab solutions.

The product portfolio centers on high and ultra-high vacuum technology. Its best-known line is turbomolecular pumps, and it also makes diaphragm pumps (such as the MVP series), leak detection systems and measurement devices, vacuum chambers and systems, and components for industrial applications. Together these cover the full vacuum chain, from generating the vacuum to measuring it, checking it for leaks, and containing it.

Semiconductor manufacturing is the primary market, and the "fab solutions" part of the new name points to that focus. The company also serves research and development, scientific instruments, and other specialized industrial applications. Beyond hardware, it offers consultation and a dedicated service portfolio supported by a global network, so customers can get installation, maintenance and application support alongside the equipment. For engineering audiences, the main draws are its long record in turbopump technology and the breadth of its vacuum product range.
