We are one of the last independent security door hardware manufacturers in the USA. Originally, ROFU came from Switzerland, and opened an office in Southern California in 1980, Peter Rothfuchs changed the name from Rothfuchs AG to ROFU International due to possible spelling issues. In addition to the sales office in California, they started a manufacturing plant in Taiwan, while maintaining the offices in Zurich and the production of strikes in Germany. In 1994, after the passing of Peter, the facilities in Taiwan was closed and Len moved the company to Washington state. Eventually opening a joint office in England, and eventually we sold off the facilities in Zurich to a European strike company. Eventually we added an office & warehouse in Canada. Now in 2015 we maintain our corporate offices in Lakewood, WA.
