Rex Engineering is a family owned and operated gearmotor manufacturer in Titusville, Florida. We have been in business since 1974, and are moving confidently forward to provide excellent service and quality workmanship. We are also focused on the goals of maintaining competitive pricing, even during turbulent times, and for constant design improvements resulting in more reliable and versatile products. We manufacture most of the components for our motors in house, including all the gears, custom shafts and AC powered motors. In recent years, we have added increased CNC capacity, and we know that this trend will continue as our customers demand higher complexity, and more precise designs. Recent additions to our product line include: brushless DC gearmotors, linear motion gearmotors, and planetary gearmotors.

Rex Engineering manufacturers two types of AC powered motors: unidirectional and reversible. The unidirectional motors are simple, durable and use the shaded pole type of construction. AC powered reversible motors use permanent split capacitor (PSC) construction, and require a run capacitor to operate. Rex Engineering also manufacturers DC powered gearmotors in many configurations. We will customize the speed, operating voltage, torque carrying capacity, shaft design, etc., doing whatever it takes to get your design moving! Our permanent magnet DC powered gearmotors are simple and reliable. Connect DC power and they are running! If you would like to control the direction of rotation and the motor speed, these motors respond well to inexpensive controllers. The voltage range is from 6-30 VDC. Also, most have EMI filters to greatly reduce the noise emissions. The brushes are non-replaceable. All Rex Engineering gearboxes can be built with brushless DC ("BLDC") motors.

We make a lot of gears! Try us for custom gear, featuring in-house design and production. With our CNC turning equipment and over 50 gear cutting machines, we produce most of the gears used in our motors, however we also do custom work too. We have 3D solid model capability at our facility, along with in-house design and production. We will work to your specs using a variety of materials, heat-treatment, and machining processes. SAE and metric pitches too.
