MSA is the industry leader with the world''s largest installed base of fixed gas and flame detectors. You''ll find our detectors and systems at work in hazardous industries and environments, from the arctic, to the desert to the tropics or at sea. No matter whether your facility is large or small, MSA has a scalable solution to protect you, your coworkers, and your facility. With the acquisition of General Monitors over 10-years ago, MSA provides a combined experience of over 165 years, to help us revolutionize fixed gas and flame detection. We''re better together as a team, providing reliable safety solutions that work in plants large or small to protect hundreds of thousands of workers around the globe. As the FGFD leaders, we are continually pushing the boundaries in technology to develop advanced detectors which increase the level of safety for people and facilities. Like all our customers around the world, you are in safe hands when using MSA products.
Fixed gas detection is often viewed as a necessary capital expense. However, the long term operational costs such as labor and calibration gas shouldn''t be overlooked.
MSA''s breakthrough TruCal is a patented extended calibration technology that corrects sensor drift and extends calibration periods for XCell Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas sensors using Adaptive Environmental Compensation (AEC) algorithms.
TruCal eliminates the need for regularly scheduled calibrations. Sensors will perform within stated performance specifications for 24 months without manual calibration. Not only does TruCal compensate for environmental changes, it notifies if the sensor inlet gets blocked using Diffusion Supervision technology.
TruCal''s revolutionary self-checking technology corrects sensor sensitivity to account for any drift and notifies if a manual gas calibration or sensor exchange is required. TruCal sets a new standard for reliability while lowering cost of ownership.
The General Monitors FL500 UVIR Flame Detector by MSA delivers high speed flame detection with increased false alarm immunity in a compact design. The FL500 UV/IR Flame Detector monitors for radiation emitted by a flame in both the ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) spectral ranges. This UV/IR combination provides a fast response time and increased false alarm immunity against sources of radiation for reliable protection.
Features seven fuel sources FM performance approved (heptane, hydrogen, methane, methanol, propane, ethane, butane). Continuous Optical Path Monitoring (COPM) performs self-check every two minutes to ensure the optical path is clear and the electronic circuitry is functional. Easily test with our exclusive TL105 Test Lamp that allows the FL500 UV/IR Flame Detector to be safely tested under real fire conditions with a simulated flicker of a flame. Multiple output options including industry standard 4-20 mA (source or sink analog), Modbus, HART, relays.
The Chillgard 5000 Ammonia Monitor accurately detects ammonia gas leaks as low as 10 ppm for early notification, keeping your plant safe according to ANSI/IIAR and EN 378. Using Photoacoustic Infrared (PAIR) technology provides a more accurate measurement and requires less maintenance than traditional electrochemical gas sensors for lower cost of ownership.
Learn about the Senscient ELDS laser-based open path gas detector's breakthrough technology! It's immune to nuisance false alarms caused by weather and interferent gases thanks to its breakthrough Harmonic Fingerprint processing. Available for a wide range of toxic and flammable gases.
An innovative, modular system that combines highly reliable programmable logic controller (PLC) technology with MSA''s advanced gas and flame detectors. It is highly scalable, making it suitable for small systems to large plant-wide applications. Offering intelligence, flexibility, and reliability, the HazardWatch® System''s controller hardware configuration and software has been tested by Factory Mutual to verify NFPA 72 compliance.
- Both fire and gas functions are certified to NFPA 72 by FM
- FM certified fire network allows for multiple HazardWatch systems to be networked together
- Touchscreen interface (10.4") provides user-friendly graphical interface and supports plot plans
- Field wiring topology is simple, reliable and cost effective
- FM certified ControlNet, Ethernet or Modbus output from the system
The future of gas detection is here with the ULTIMA® X5000 gas monitor. Featuring a breakthrough design with touch-button interface, dual sensing technology, and Bluetooth technology providing real-time data at your fingertips. MSA's patented XCell® sensors with TruCal® technology extends calibration cycles, self-checks 4x/day and provides better stability for worry-free operation. Monitoring for gas leaks has never been easier.
With the wide range of gas sensing & detection technologies available, the selection and placement of the optimal detection technologies for maximum protection are critical decisions that can have a lasting impact. Unfortunately many owners and managers don't have detailed knowledge of strengths and limitations of the available hazard sensing technologies nor the recommended methodology to assess and define the layers of onsite protection required to adequately safeguard their assets. This webinar seeks to take the guess work out of the gas detection selection process and provide a high-level overview of available gas sensing technologies to help you learn what to look for to optimize your facility's protection.
The CalGard Remote Calibration Adapter is a stainless-steel accessory for the ULTIMA X5000 and General Monitors S5000 (X/S5000) digital sensors that provides reliable operation of remotely installed gas detection sensors working under harsh environmental conditions. It permits users to complete function tests ("bump tests") and calibrations without the need for directly accessing the sensor and greatly simplifies gas detector maintenance. It prevents dilution of the test gas going to the sensor even in high wind conditions.
Determining the optimal quantity and location of flame and gas detectors is critical to ensure the detection system's effectiveness. With mapping, it's now easy to see if your fire and gas system is providing adequate coverage.
