   Amplifier       Amplifiers are used to regenerate and amplify signals. 
   Antenna       Antennas are used to collect or radiate electromagnetic waves. They may be considered specialized transducers that convert RF fields into AC line signals, or vice versa. There are two main types of antennas: receiving and transmitting. Receiving antennas intercept RF energy and deliver AC to electronic equipment. Transmitting antennas are fed with AC from electronic equipment and generate an RF field. 
   Block Upconverter (BUC)       Block upconverters (BUC) are used to transmit (uplink) satellite signals. They convert a band or a block of frequencies from lower to high frequencies. 
   Equalizer       Equalizers are used to alter or adjust the frequency response of a device. 
   Frequency Converter       Frequency converters are integrated component assemblies that are required for converting microwave signals into lower or intermediate, or higher frequency ranges for further processing.  Frequency converters generally consist of an input filter, a local oscillator filter, an IF filter, a mixer, and frequently an LO frequency multiplier, plus one or more stages of IF amplification.    Low-Noise Block Converter (LNB)       Low-noise block converters (LNB) or low-noise blocks are downconverters that are used to receive (downlink) satellite signals. These devices are actually the antenna of the parabolic satellite dish used for satellite TV. 
   Power Amplifier / SSPA       Products are power amplifiers or solid state power amplifiers (SSPA). 
   Receiver       RF receivers separate radio signals from one another and convert specific signals into audio, video, or data formats. RF receivers use an antenna to receive transmitted radio signals and a tuner to separate a specific signal from all of the other signals that the antenna receives. Detectors or demodulators then extract information that was encoded before transmission. There are several ways to decode or modulate this information, including amplitude modulation (AM) and frequency modulation (FM). Radio techniques limit localized interference and noise. With direct sequence spread spectrum, signals are spread over a large band by multiplexing the signal with a code or signature that modulates each bit. With frequency hopping spread spectrum, signals move through a narrow set of channels in a sequential, cyclical, and predetermined pattern. 
   Satellite Modem       Satellite modems are used for satellite transmissions. 
   Splitter       Splitters are used to divide a signal into two or more signals. 
   Switch       Switches are used to route signals to different paths. 
   Switchover Unit       Switchover units or redundancy switching units (RSU) are used to monitor the status of a device. 
   Transceiver       Transceivers have both a transmitters and a receiver. 
   Translator       Translators are designed to translate transmitter bands to the receiver band.

   BNC       Bayonet Neil-Councilman (BNC) connectors were designed for military applications, but are used widely in video and RF applications to 2 GHz. BNC connectors have a slotted outer conductor and a plastic dielectric that causes increasing losses at higher frequencies.    SMA       Subminiature-A (SMA) connectors are intended for use on semi-rigid cables in components. They directly interface the cable dielectric without air gaps.  They are not intended for permanent connections. 
   TNC       Threaded Neil-Concelman (TNC) connectors are similar in size to BNC connectors but feature a threaded coupling nut for applications that require performance to 11 GHz. TNC connectors are durable, reliable devices that are widely used in the cellular and mobile communication industry for equipment cabling and antenna interfaces. 
   Type N       Type N connectors include an integrated gasket to protect against environmental ingress and create an air gap between the center and the outer conductor. They primarily have 50Ω impedance, but 75Ω versions for CATV, are available.
