Tack Cloths, Tack Rollers, and Tack Sheets Information
Tack cloths, tack rollers and tack sheets dry clean surfaces by adhering particulates to an adhesive or tacky layer. The sticky (tacky) resin is embedded in a fabric and supplied in the shape of a cloth (small), sheet (large), or roller. Tack cloths, tack rollers and tack sheets are commonly used to remove dust and small particles from a surface before it is finished with paint, stain, or sealer. The adhesive is only slightly sticky as to not leave any residue.
Tack cloths, tack rollers and tack sheets are commonly used in woodworking applications, like cleaning sanding dust between layers of paint or polyurethane. They are also used by manufacturers in the automotive, marine, aerospace, and electronics industries. Tack cloths, tack rollers and tack sheets are most often used between coats of paint, stain or sealant should the workpiece can pick up dust or debris while it dries. Using a tack cloth, tack roller or tack sheet removes the particulate without damaging the first coat.

Tack cloths, tack rollers and tack sheets are often available in cotton, nonwoven, and cheesecloth varieties with the option of a light or medium tack. High tack cloths, rollers and sheets are also available, often in a standard cotton material. Other types of tack cloths, tack rollers and tack sheets may also be available.
