Product Overview

CASTECH's fiber-coupled acousto-optic modulators (FAOM) are compact, high-performance devices based on bulk-wave acousto-optic interaction. They can modulate both the amplitude of optical pulses and the frequency shift of light. Modulation speed, reflected in the rise time of the output optical pulses, determines a system's response speed and available bandwidth.

Why Fiber-Coupled

Compared with free-space acousto-optic devices, fiber coupling makes the modulator easier to operate and integrate and improves reliability. FAOMs are widely used in fiber sensing systems, fiber lasers, and related fields.
