Acousto-Optic Frequency Shifters, 20–300MHz
Featured Product from CASTECH, Inc.
Product Overview
CASTECH's acousto-optic frequency shifters (AOFS) are compact devices designed to achieve frequency conversion of an input laser beam. As the beam passes through the device, the diffracted output beam is frequency shifted up or down — depending on the angle of incidence — by the frequency of the applied RF signal. Two or more devices can be cascaded to achieve sum or difference frequency combinations.
Key Features
- Standard frequency shifts from 20–300 MHz, many realizable in bicrystal devices
- Built with high acoustic- and optical-grade Tellurium Oxide (TeO2), grown and polished in-house at CASTECH
- Low insertion loss and high damage threshold
- Cascadable configurations for sum or difference frequency output
- Customizable center frequency and shifted frequency values
- Matched series of RF driver options available to pair with each device
Product Series
- Free-Space Frequency Shifters — Model: CATF-w-a-mt-f-c-h
- Fiber-Coupled Frequency Shifters — Model: CAFSF-f-r-mtq-xb-w-c-h
