Can Your Strain Gage Do This?
Featured Product from Luna Innovations
The ODISI is a distributed fiber optic sensing solution for measuring strain and temperature with very high spatial resolution. Using very small and flexible optical fiber sensors, the ODiSI can measure strain at sub-millimeter intervals. These optical fiber sensors can be up to 100 m in length and can be routed or embedded to measure strain profiles accurately and reliably.
Because the ODISI system uses fiber optic sensors, measurements can be made in the most challenging environments. Fiber optic sensors are electrically passive, immune to EMI and high voltages, generally chemically inert and non-corrosive, and tolerant or radiation. And because the optical fiber sensors are very low profile and flexible they can be applied to challenging geometries to capture critical strain values in locations where it would be impossible to instrument with traditional foil gages.
The ODiSI high-definition distributed fiber optic sensing system is used in a variety of research, production and monitoring applications, delivering the measurement data not available with more traditional measurement and DAQ systems.
