When a collision happens, every millisecond counts. Marposs GEMCMS Collision Monitoring System is designed to help protect machine tools, robots, and handling systems from costly collision damage by detecting abnormal mechanical forces and initiating a stop signal in less than 1 millisecond.

Using a highly sensitive sensor, GEMCMS detects slight mechanical deformation caused by forces acting on the machine. This allows the system to identify not only hard impacts, but also lower-speed, non-impact or quasistatic collisions that can occur during setup.

GEMCMS is especially valuable in automated and unattended production, where an operator may not be present to react when something goes wrong. From high-value machining centers and automated milling and turning lines to robotic cells and handling systems, the system helps minimize damage, reduce unplanned downtime, and protect critical machine components.

With configurable warning, soft stop, and hard stop limits, plus event recording for later analysis, GEMCMS can be adapted to the needs of each application.
