Description
Membrane switch and keypad services involve the design and production of user interfaces that consist of a series of pressure pads or keys. Working Principle
Membrane keypads operate by using a multi-layered structure. The top layer is a flexible polymer film with printed characters, which covers the entire keypad. Beneath this, a soft rubber dome is used to select keys. When a key is pressed, the dome is depressed through perforations in the middle layer, making contact with the bottom membrane layer. This action completes a circuit, which is then registered by the device's controllers or hardware. This design makes membrane keypads resistant to debris, liquids, and shock, although they may degrade with frequent use.
