Working with ceramics? Working with ceramics? Start with the spec, not the guess. Designing with post-fired ceramics is different from designing with metal or plastic. The materials are harder, more brittle, and require different rules of engagement. That 's why we created a free Designer's Guide for engineers working with: Sapphire. Alumina. Quartz. Zirconia. Macor. and other hard materials. The guide covers everything from recommended minimum wall thickness to tolerancing best practices --based on 75+ years... (read more) -

Machining & Metal Working Machining & Metalworking. Back in 1942, Jack Schron, Sr. and his father Christy founded Glenn Tool and Manufacturing, a modest machine shop in Collinwood, Ohio. As wartime production put increasing demands on their own operation, the Schron's realized that American manufacturers needed a better way to quickly and efficiently satisfy demand. They began to manufacture standard components in the building next door, with the goal of helping manufacturers build jigs and fixtures more quickly. "The... How Working Distance Affects UV LED Intensity Published intensity ratings alone do not tell the full story of UV curing performance. Learn how emitter focus designed for a specific working distance and light uniformity affect the actual irradiance delivered to a part. The paper also explains why similar-looking emitters can perform very differently in real applications. Key insights include: Why intensity measurements vary based on where they are taken. Differences between focused and unfocused LED emitters. How working distance impacts... (read more)Browse UV Curing Equipment Datasheets for Dymax -

Knowles Precision Devices
Non-Magnetic Components for Medical Imaging can disrupt the field and degrade the quality of an MRI image. How an MRI Works at a High Level. The MRI machines we are accustomed to today are based on the principle of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). More specifically, the molecules that make up the human body contain hydrogen, and the nucleus of the hydrogen atom has a single proton that behaves like a magnet with a north and south pole. When a magnetic field is applied, their spins, which is a property of subatomic particles, arrange... (read more)Browse Capacitors Datasheets for Knowles Precision Devices
