Wine Tourism Around the World: Development, Management and Markets

Conclusions

As this chapter has indicated, wine tourism is an increasingly important component of regional development strategies and individual wine business decisions. However, this chapter has just touched the surface of the many issues which emerge in examining the development of wine tourism around the world. Clearly, it is impossible to cover every wine region in the world in depth in terms of wine tourism. Instead, the remainder of the book will provide a guide to some of the key issues which emerge in its management, marketing and development in terms of both themes (such as ensuring we understand the consumer), and regional case studies (for example, of Australia, Canada and the United States), which can indicate to the reader how different places are responding to the challenge of developing quality wine tourism products.
