Possible Hazards
Contact between Bis(Dimethyl Thiocarbamyl) Disulfide and the skin can cause burns to the eyes and skin. Bis(Dimethyl Thiocarbamyl) Disulfide does not burn readily but some of the materials based on this chemical may be combustible. Fire in the vicinity of Bis(Dimethyl Thiocarbamyl) Disulfide can produce irritating or poisonous gases. Improper handling of the run-off from fire control or the dilution water of Bis(Dimethyl Thiocarbamyl) Disulfide can also lead to pollution.
This chemical is not compatible with strong oxidizers, strong acids, and oxidizable materials. Care should be taken to maintain safe distance between these chemicals and Bis(Dimethyl Thiocarbamyl) Disulfide.
Toxicity Effects
When exposed to Bis(Dimethyl Thiocarbamyl) Disulfide, the target organs affected in a human body are the skin, mucous membranes, kidneys, respiratory system, and lungs.
Concentrations of 1,500 mg/m 3 of this chemical are known to cause immediate damage to the life and health of the exposed individual.
