Harmful Chemicals Commonly Used in the Polymer Industry

In the polymer industry, this chemical is popularly known as Dibenzo GMF.
Exposure to this chemical principally affects the skin respiratory system. It can slightly irritate exposed target organs.
Ingestion of this chemical in large quantities may cause mild digestive disorders, including diarrhea.
No toxicology studies have been reported on this chemical, but it has been in commercial use for over 25 years.
Dibenzo GMF is a flammable chemical and as a result, the following should be remembered while handling this chemical:
Do not use welding or a cutting torch on or near any container of this material, even when empty because an explosion could occur.
Do not use, pour, spill, or store near heat or open flames.
When Dibenzo GMF burns, toxic fumes may be formed as a combustion product.
As in any fire, prevent human exposure to fire, smoke, fumes, or products of combustion. Evacuate nonessential personnel from the area of the fire area. Firefighters should wear full-face, self-contained breathing apparatus and impervious protective clothing, such as gloves, hoods, and suits. The recommended fire fighting methods for fires involving Dibenzo GMF are foam, water spray, dry chemical, or carbon dioxide.
Solid streams of water should not be used because of the possibility of dispersing dust clouds of sulfur in the air. These dust clouds may cause an explosion. Cool the surrounding area with water fog to prevent ignition. Fires will rekindle before the sulphur mass is cooled down...
