Air and Gas Drilling Manual: Applications for Oil and Gas Recovery Wells and Geothermal Fluids Recovery Wells, Third Edition

This appendix gives the graphic representation of the average atmospheric conditions for midlatitudes (30 N to 60 N) of the North American continent.
Figure B-1 gives the average annual atmospheric pressure of air for midlatitudes of the North American continent as a function of surface elevation location above mean sea level. These average annual atmospheric pressures are of critical importance in predicting the actual weight rate of flow of air (or other gases) at an actual drilling location (see Chapters 5 to 12). Figure B-1a is given in USCS units and Figure B-1b is given in SI units.
Figure B-2 gives the average annual atmospheric temperature of air for midlatitudes of the North American continent as a function of surface elevation location above mean sea level. These average annual atmospheric temperatures are of critical importance in predicting the approximate geothermal temperature at an actual drilling location (see Chapters 5 to 12). Figure B-2a is given in USCS units and Figure B-2b is given in SI units.
