RFID Implementation

Part of the excitement around RFID is the wide variety of its applicability. The applications of the technology are limited only by our imagination, and it seems that new applications are being defined each day. This chapter describes first the "signature" applications that placed RFID in the public eye and made it a celebrity. (We discuss nine of these "signature applications.") Second, it categorizes the range of RFID applications and discusses each in detail.
In many of the cases, participants report difficulty in documenting a return on investment (ROI) from their RFID initiatives. This topic is covered in Section 5.3.
