   Activated Carbon       Roasting organic material until it decomposes into granules produces activated carbon. Coconut shells, wood, and bone are common sources. Activated carbon is available in a variety of particle sizes. 
   Activated Alumina       Activated alumina is an aluminum oxide that is highly porous and exhibits tremendous surface area. Activated alumina is resistant to thermal shock and abrasion and will not shrink, swell, soften, nor disintegrate when immersed in water. 
   Silica Gel       Silica gel is a matrix of hydrated silicon dioxide. Silica, or silicon dioxide (SiO2), is the same material found in quartz. The gel form contains millions of tiny pores that can adsorb and hold moisture. Silica gel can adsorb about 40 percent of its weight in moisture and can take the relative humidity in a closed container down to about 40 percent. Silica gel can be regenerated by heating it above 300ºF (150ºC) until the moisture is evaporated away. 
   Molecular Sieves / Desiccants       Molecular sieves are micro porous crystalline solids with well-defined structures. Generally they contain silicon, aluminum, and oxygen in their framework and water and/or other molecules within their pores. Many occur naturally as minerals and are mined in many parts of the world. Others are synthetic, and are made commercially for specific uses. They are also known as zeolites. 
   Custom Media       Media used within the equipment is custom mixed for a specific application. 
   Other       Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary adsorption media type.
