MICRMO is pleased to announce the new 8 and 10 mm brushless motors from the FAULHABER Group. These two new, extremely compact brushless DC servo motors combine power, robustness and high resolution feedback in a unique way. This innovative drive concept underlines FAULHABER's successful tradition in the area of micro drive technology and complements the range of brushless 'mini' DC servo motors, with diameters ranging from 6 to 12 mm.

In the fight for high performance with minimum weight, FAULHABER's 3274 BP4 is the new champion in the ring. The brushless DC servo motor, measuring 32 mm in diameter and 74 mm in length, has massive continuous torque of 165 mNm. Surprisingly, it weighs in at just under 320 g, which is half the weight of conventional motors with comparable power.
MICROMO introduces the latest FAULHABER Linear DC Servomotor based on QUICKSHAFT® technology. The LM 0830, an 8 mm powerhouse with peak force up to 2.74 N. It is ideal where high precision linear movement in the most compact dimensions is vital in applications such as medical imaging and diagnostic systems, lab automation and a variety of robotics. The series also features the LM 1247 and LM 2070.
The Piezo LEGS® motor uses piezoceramic "legs" to create motion. Each component consists of multiple bimorph actuators co-sintered into a single body. These movable legs, made out of ceramic "muscles", will generate powerful linear or rotary motion and remove the need for gears or mechanical transmission. Direct drive through friction coupling ensures there is no mechanical play or backlash, and the fact that there is no slippage means motor will hold position even when powered down (not consuming any power). A unique aspect for the walking principle is the ability to divide the full step into much smaller increments. As an example, the linear Piezo LEGS® will be able to position on a sub-micron or even single nanometer level. Given that kind of resolution, it is obvious that Piezo LEGS® is the product to use for any high precision application.
The LR17 expands MICROMO's strong line-up of piezo technology from PiezoMotor and is offered with an integrated absolute encoder.
The compact LR 17 is a mere 17 mm in diameter and has all the benefits coming from the Piezo LEGS technology. The stall torque from the motor is 30 mNm, which is high compared to its small size. Because of the self-locking feature of the friction drive, the motor can hold position without consuming any power. The integrated 15 bit magnetic absolute encoder gives a closed loop resolution of 0.2 milli-radians (0.01º). Through the Piezo LEGS technology, you get an amazing sub-micro-radian resolution in open loop.
MICROMO is pleased to announce the arrival of the Piezo LEGS® LC20 Caliper Motor. The LC20 Caliper Motor is designed for integration in linear or goniometer stages. It's extremely compact size and direct drive makes it ideal for high precision motorized stages. With this piezo motor solution, it is possible to fit your complete motion system inside the stage - no more bulky electrical motors and linear screws that are connected externally to the stage. The motor can also be fitted on the outside of a linear stage, making the use of longer drive rods possible for increased travel range.
